OpenStreetMaps 2022 Shapefiles for Radar sites
Radial shapefiles created from the 2022 OpenStreetMaps ( OSM ) maps that cover up to a 250 mile radius from each radar site. Each download also contains a compatible style file. All of these are the highest detail that OpenStreetMaps provides and may be very large downloads.
The TDWR sites just use a single 60 mile radius shapefile which is just a little larger than the radar sites range.
The radar sites found on islands and in the territories that have compatible radars, are also single shapefiles since it wouldn’t have saved space to break them down. For example… Hawaii is a single shapefile used for all of the radar sites on the islands.
I recommend downloading the zip files into a folder you’ve created for them… say “States”, “USA” or whatever you want to call it. Then unzip them in that folder, they will then unzip into their own folders named by the state, island or territory. You’ll find the radar sites listed for a location within that folder.
Please be aware that these can cause long load times for the radar sites due to their size and detail they contain.
